Place the story
Jerusalem stands in the hills roughly 32 miles east of the Mediterranean coast. This describes its geographic position, not a road journey. The marker identifies the city, not a verified room where Nathan spoke.
David remained in Jerusalem while his army was away (2 Samuel 11:1). After David arranged a soldier’s death and took his wife, God sent Nathan to confront the king (2 Samuel 12:1–14).
