Galilee and Jerusalem in James’s Story

Galilee and Jerusalem: Map of James's story

James was called near the Sea of Galilee and was later killed during Herod Agrippa I’s rule in Jerusalem. The map gives regional orientation, not a reconstructed travel route.

How to read this map

Scripture does not give James’s age or a detailed account of his work after Jesus’s resurrection. Later traditions about travel to Spain are not established by the New Testament.

Read James, son of Zebedee’s profile.

Sources: Mark 1:19–20; 3:17; 10:35–45; Acts 12:1–2, NIV; Natural Earth. Checked September 18, 2026.
